On February 19, Dan Greenlee of the NRCS Snow Survey in Nevada will be speaking to our local Northern Nevada chapter of the American Meteorological Society here at DRI. I think his talk will be of interest to many here, and we invite anyone who is interested to join us. There is no cost to participate, unless you'd like to donate to the food fund at the meeting or become a chapter member ($15).
Meeting agenda
| 7:00 | Chapter business |
| 7:15 | Weather and climate briefing (Laura) |
| 7:30 | Dan Greenlee presentation |
| 8:30 | Close meeting |
Location: Desert Research Institute, Stout Conference Room, 2215 Raggio Parkway, Reno. Guests are asked to please use main front entrance by the flagpole to call for entry.
You see Dan Greenlee in the news every month during the winter season talking about snowpack and how much water we have sitting up in those mountains! Now meet him in person as he presents a summary of current conditions of the region's snowpack this season, and he will be open for questions at the end of his presentation.
Jeff Thompson (AMS Chapter President, from KRNV) and I hope you can join us! Since it is over dinner hour, we will pre-purchase food and ask for small contributions to help cover the cost if you wish. We will buy sandwiches, salads, and some dessert items and beverages (water, sodas, coffee and tea).
Thanks, and we hope to see some of you there,
Laura
