About the Physics Department

The Department of Physics at the University of Nevada, Reno specializes in atomic, molecular, plasma, consended matter, medical, statistical and computational physics. A strong infrastructure supports instruction along with experimental and theoretical physicss.

State of the art experimental facilities include a high power z-pinch and multi-charged and negative ion beam sources. Faculty and students benefit from close collaborations with national and international laboratories.
