William Brinsmead   
Technical Manager
William Brinsmead has retired, and will be coming in Thursdays and Fridays on a volunteer basis for the next few years, excepting the Burning man festival in late August and visits to Thailand with his partner Adisak. He has been the Physics Department's primary technical manager and electronics technician since 1983. He was and often still is responsible for directing the development and maintenance of the Department's experimental equipment, laboratory space, computers, vehicles, phone system, Building and Grounds interface, and other infrastructure. In addition, Bill procures donations from a vast array of corporate and government sources and often can provide free equipment and support to those with needs in high vacuum, electronic/mechanical components, test equipment, computers, furniture, lasers, and even vehicles. Other campus departments such as Electrical Engineering and Art, local schools, and students, all have utilized his vast equipment stores. He assists with the department's property inventory and is the primary contact for recycling and disposal of surplus materials. Bill is a great trouble shooter and is frequently consulted in matters of the department's operation.

He is also into, alternative energy, collecting scientific antiques and vacuum tubes, art, Hanging out at coffee shops, Mp3 music and of course, the "Burning Man" festival, 11 years now.
In addition to English, Bill also speaks fluent Thai, and provides assistance to the Thai students at UNR.
