Abstracts

Abstracts will not required until October 1st, 2008 . Abstracts should be submitted in pdf-format or in Microsoft Word files by e-mail to rphdm08@unr.edu.

Manuscripts

As in previous meetings in this series, the organizers believe strongly in the importance of publishing a proceedings, both to share the research presented with the scientific community, and to create a permanent record of the meeting. Each speaker should consider submitting a manuscript, either at the meeting, or shortly thereafter, for publication in a special issue of High Energy Density Physics.

Proceedings

The RPHDM meeting proceedings will be printed in the Elsevier Journal, High Energy Density Physics.

Since the 1992 RPHDM meeting we have published the proceedings as set of numbers, printed in one issue, in the Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer.

These Special Issues are:

Volume 51, numbers 1 and 2, 1994
Volume 54, numbers 1 and 2, 1995
Volume 58, numbers 4, 5, and 6, 1997
Volume 65, numbers 1, 2, and 3, 2000
Volume 71, numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, 2002
Volume 81, numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4, 2003

The proceedings of the last RPHDM meeting were printed in High Energy Density Physics, Volume 3, numbers 1 and 2, May 2007.

Submissions to the special issue of "High Energy Density Physics" on Radiative Properties of Hot Dense Matter

The deadline for proceedings submissions is Friday, January 16, 2009.

For the submission process we will accept articles in the MS Word and LaTeX formats. Please send them directly to rwlee@berkeley.edu. These articles will be reviewed to ensure quality. Upon acceptance of an article, Authors will be asked to transfer copyright (for more information on copyright see http://elsevier.com/authors). The electronic text should be prepared in a way very similar to that of conventional manuscripts (see also http://www.elsevier.com/locate/hedp.)

LaTeX documents: The article should preferably be written using Elsevier's document class "elsart". The Elsevier LaTeX package (including detailed instructions for LaTeX preparation) can be obtained from http://elsevier.com/locate/latex.

Overview: Please write your text in English. Italics are not to be used for expressions of Latin origin, for example, in vivo, et al., per se. Use decimal points (not commas); use a space for thousands (10 000 and above). Use double line spacing and wide margins on numbered, single column pages.

The title page(s) should contain the article title, author(s) names and affiliations, the text of related footnotes and the text of the abstract. The author to whom the proofs should be sent must be indicated with her/his full postal address, telephone number, e-mail address and/or fax number. One to four classification codes (PACS 2003 at http://www.aip.org/pacs/) and up to six keywords of the author's choice should be given below the abstract.

Tables should be typed on separate sheets at the end of the manuscript. In addition to its serial number, each table should have a sufficiently detailed caption to explain the data displayed in it.

Figures should be numbered and their captions listed together at the end of the manuscript in EPS or TIFF format. A detailed guide on electronic artwork is available on our website: http://elsevier.com/artworkinstructions

Formulae in the manuscript should be clearly typed with particular consideration given to characters that maybe misinterpreted.

References in the text to other publications should be numbered consecutively within square brackets and listed together at the end of the text. The format is: 1) after the first three names use et al. 2) Use the abbreviation for the Journal, 3) use bold type for the volume, 4) page number, and 5) the year in parentheses. For example, SJ Rose, RW Lee, A Einstein, et al., Phys Rev B 33, 1234 (2008).

Submission checklist: This list can be used during the final checking of an article prior to sending it for review. Please ensure that the following items are present:

  • One Author designated as corresponding Author
  • E-mail address
  • Full postal address
  • Telephone and fax numbers

  • All necessary files have been sent.

  • Keywords
  • All figure captions
  • All tables (including title, description, footnotes)

  • Further:
  • Manuscript should be spell checked.
  • All references mentioned in the Reference list are cited in the text, and vice versa.
  • Color figures are clearly marked as being intended for color reproduction on the Web (free of charge) and in print (at extra charge to the author) or to be reproduced in color on the Web (free of charge) and in black-and-white in print.
  • If only color on the Web is required, black and white versions of the figures are also supplied for printing purposes.
